The abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics in Indonesia has spread to all regions of the country and has spread to various areas of life, including educational environments, work environments, and residential environments, as well as law enforcement environments. One law enforcement institution that is also not free from the abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics is the Correctional Institution. Correctional Institutions are places that provide guidance to prisoners based on the correctional system, but in fact the distribution of narcotics occurs within correctional institutions. Based on the background above, the problems that will be answered in writing this thesis include: first, how is law enforcement against perpetrators of buying and selling narcotics in Class II A correctional institutions in Pekanbaru City and the obstacles and efforts in enforcing the law against perpetrators of buying and selling narcotics in Class II correctional institutions? A Pekanbaru City. This type of research is sociological or observational research by means of a survey, namely research that takes data directly from the population using data collection tools, namely interviews, after which the data is taken and processed so that conclusions are obtained using a deductive method. Meanwhile, if we look at its nature, this research is descriptive, namely research that explains in the form of clear and detailed sentences. Law Enforcement Against Perpetrators of Buying and Selling Narcotics in Class II A Penitentiary in Pekanbaru City means that perpetrators involved in buying and selling narcotics will receive strict sanctions, namely additional prison sentences and isolation/exile from other inmates and if employees of Pekanbaru Class II A Penitentiary are Violating employment regulations and being involved with a network of drug dealers in prisons will be dismissed and punished. Obstacles and efforts in enforcing the law against perpetrators of buying and selling narcotics in Class II A correctional institutions in Pekanbaru City include a lack of facilities and infrastructure such as the unavailability of detection equipment which creates a surveillance and security system. in the Class II A Pekanbaru prison is less than optimal. The quality and quality of human resources for the Class II A Pekanbaru prison staff, the number of Class II A Pekanbaru prison employees is not commensurate with the number of convicts in the prison which exceeds the capacity of a prison, but efforts continue to be made such as maximizing searches, carry out data collection on prisoners who have used or been involved in drug problems, improve facilities and infrastructure as well as the quality of human resources for officers at the Pekanbaru Class II A Prison, provide guidance to Class II A Pekanbaru prison employees and provide strict sanctions against Class II A Pekanbaru prisons who carry out distribution in in Class II A Pekanbaru Prison.
