The circulation of narcotics, seen from a juridical aspect, is the legitimate existence. Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics only prohibits the use of narcotics without permission by law. However, in the jurisdiction of the Padang Bolak Police Station, there is still a lot of illicit circulation of narcotics. This situation is in empirical reality, its use is often misused, and not for the benefit of health, but further than that, that is, it is used as a business object (economy) and has an impact on mentally destructive activities, both physical and psychic of the younger generation. Until now in actual terms, the spread of narcotics and illegal drugs has reached a very concerning level. Just imagine, almost the entire population of Indonesia and even the jurisdiction of the Padang Bolak Police Station can easily get narcotics and illegal drugs. The problem in this paper is about how the police's efforts in preventing the illicit circulation of narcotics in the jurisdiction of the Padang Bolak Police, and what are the police obstacles in preventing the illicit circulation of narcotics in the jurisdiction of the Padang Bolak Police. Judging from the type of research, this research is classified into observation research, by means of a survey, which means looking at symptoms or phenomena that occur in the field, namely police efforts in preventing the illicit circulation of narcotics in the jurisdiction of the Padang Bolak Police Station. From the results of the study, it can be seen that the police's efforts in preventing the illicit circulation of narcotics in the jurisdiction of the Padang Bolak Police Station are in a non-penal way carried out through preventive efforts which are implemented through counseling, dissemination of brochures, and banners, installation of community service advertisements, socialization to the community. Development of an anti-narcotics task force. Repressive efforts are by applying law enforcement to perpetrators of narcotics crimes. The inhibiting factors for police efforts in preventing the illicit circulation of narcotics in the jurisdiction of the Padang Bolak Police Station are based on several factors including; Facilities Factors, Community Factors, Economic Factors.
