This study aims to determine the role of the village head in empowering the creative economy of the community in Sorek Dua village, Pelalawan base sub- district and looking at the inhibiting factors for the village head's role in empowering the creative economy community in Sorek Dua village, Pelalawan base sub-district. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, the data source in this research uses a purposive sampling technique because in this research the sources of information are informants who are competent and have relevance to this research. The informants in this study were people who really knew and mastered problems and information, especially regarding the title of the researcher, namely the village head, the head of the BPD, Kaur, 2 people from the community. The data analysis technique used in this research is qualitative, namely conducting interviews with various informants. The results of this study are that the role of the village head of Sorek Dua is good enough to carry out his work to empower the creative economy in Sorek Dua village. Obstacles for village heads in empowering the creative economy in Sorek Dua Village, in this case, have not been implemented properly, due to the lack of community participation in participating in village government programs, namely creative economic empowerment.
