Apresiasi Musik Melayu (Musik Kompang) dalam Pembelajaran Seni Budaya di Kelas X4 SMAN 1 Pekanbaru Semester Ganjil Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022

This study aims to determine the appreciation of Malay Music (Compang Music) in learning arts and culture in class X4 at SMAN 1 Pekanbaru in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The theory used in this study uses Anwar's (1997) theory of music appreciation in the level of recognition, level of understanding, level of appreciation, level of enjoyment, and level of implication. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, which is a thorough understanding of the research related to the object under study to answer problems and obtain data then analyze and conclude. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the appreciation of Malay Music (Compang Music) in learning arts and culture in class X4 SMAN 1 Pekanbaru Odd Semester Academic Year 2021/2022 that students have a good appreciation in learning Kompang Music, this is proven from the results of research that students know music Kompang by listening at this level students are able to recognize kompang music well in learning arts and culture, understand students to discuss and listen and see the technique of hitting the kompang sound and how to play Kompang music properly and correctly through its rhythms, appreciate students' appreciation of ways the teacher plays Kompang music well and correctly, enjoys students practicing the practice of playing Kompang music with the tunes of the song "mari oh mari" students enjoy playing Kompang music from the theme as well as when carrying out their own practice and applying Kompang music correctly to the selected song. The results if presented reach 80% with good category. Suggestions that can be given are to all researchers as well as teachers and students so that they can always preserve and cultivate traditional musical instruments such as Kompang Traditional Music in the surrounding environment.
