An Analysis Of Figurative Language In Poems By Oscar Wilde

Figurative language improves the poem's beauty and artistic quality while also adding to its intrigue and individuality. The study's goals were to elucidate the various forms of figurative language that Oscar Wilde employed in his poems as well as the contextual significance of each figure of speech. The purpose of this study is to recognize a certain metaphorical language by comprehending its overall meaning when it appears in poetry. By first reading the data and then identifying the figurative language employed in the poems, the descriptive analysis technique allowed for the study of the data. The researcher classified them into many types of figurative languages after discovering certain figurative languages. Next, by determining the contextual meaning of the ten poems that were chosen, the researcher examined the general meaning of figurative language. The researcher first gathered a collection of Oscar Wilde's poetry, then went on to read and comprehend eight of his poems. After gathering data, the author chose metaphorical language that could be found in Wilde's writings. The author examined all the figurative language used in the poems during the data analysis process, and then they came to a conclusion based on the findings. Oscar Wilde's eight poems were identified, discussed, and their contextual meaning was examined. Lastly, it is believed that this research will be helpful to readers, particularly those interested in studying the same literary work.
