The theft of palm oil that occurred greatly disturbed the security and order of the community. The crime of palm oil theft is a very detrimental problem for plantation owners. The crime of theft is the type of crime that most often occurs in the midst of people's lives. Even though this crime is not a crime that is classified as a serious crime, it can cause unrest in society. So that legal efforts are needed by the police in tackling the crime of palm oil theft which is increasingly common. The type of research used is sociological research, which is descriptive in nature, using data collection tools in the form of interview techniques and literature studies, and is followed by qualitative analysis. The crime of palm oil theft is basically regulated in Article 362 of the Criminal Code and the crime of petty theft is regulated in Article 364 of the Criminal Code. Law enforcement against the perpetrators of the crime of palm oil theft in the Bunut sector police area has been carried out, but there are still obstacles that hinder the law enforcement process. This is due to the lack of cooperation between the authorities and the community, and the lack of community courage to become witnesses in cases of palm oil theft. The conclusion in the countermeasures carried out by the Police is to take preventive action by holding counseling and routine patrols, while repressive actions are in the form of arrests, investigations, investigations and so on against perpetrators. The solution from this research is that law enforcers should increase their efforts to prevent the crime of palm oil theft as early as possible. The solution in an effort to tackle the crime of palm oil theft is to create a police assistance organization and the police and the community must be more active in coordinating in order to reduce the theft rate.
