Eksistensi Musik Tradisi Sapin Bagan di Desa Bagan Hulu Bagansiapiapi Kabupaten Rokan Hilir

This study aims to find out about the existence of Sapin Bagan Traditional Music in Bagan Hulu Bagan Siapi-api Village, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The theory used in researching Existence is UU-Hamidy's theory (2022:31) that the traditions of people's lives which are usually maintained through various ceremonies, however, can shift and will eventually change due to the change of generations, space and time. The existence of music has emerged since humans existed and the existence of this music is one aspect and is still maintained today. Related to the existence of this music can be seen from the aspects of history, customs, religion and the local community. The method in this study uses a qualitative method that uses data collection techniques by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The conclusion from the existence of Sapin Bagan Traditional Music in Bagan Hulu Bagan Siapi-api Village, Rokan Hilir Regency, can be seen from (1). From a historical perspective, Sapin Bagan music has been known in Bagansiapiapi since the 1960s. And it was developed into society in the 70s in the form of groups or studios. (2) The existence of religious aspects, signs of Islam, namely song lyrics that contain advice or Islamic moral teachings. (3) The existence of the Adat Aspect, sapin bagan music is very closely related to local customs. It also symbolizes the revival of Malay culture. Sapin bagan music in the adat aspect is very much a calculation of how unity is in this custom." (4) The existence of the Community Aspect, sapin bagan music in the life of the Bagan Siapi-api community of Rokan Hilir Regency is as entertainment at welcoming ceremonies, besides that it also fills in entertainment events at marriage ceremonies and rosul circumcision.
