This study aims to determine how the interpersonal communication of the patient's family and what conflicts often occur when caring for a sick family at Puri Husada Hospital Tembilahan. Lack of interpersonal communication within the family while caring for a sick family can create conflict. This is due to fatigue, pressure and anxiety. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using the theory of Relation Maintenance. From the results of this study indicate that the lack of family interpersonal communication in caring for sick families at Puri Husada Tembilahan Hospital, this makes conflicts within the family. In the process of assisting families who are sick, the authors find that the conflict occurs because of negative thoughts that are felt due to fatigue and anxiety, then the non-disclosure during the treatment process can lead to misunderstandings in the family, uncertainty due to the length of the treatment process which makes the family must imply concern for Sick families can be motivated to survive, the absence of social networks in overcoming confusion in the treatment process and establishing mutually supportive relationships, and finally the lack of division of tasks in the family creates an imbalance of tasks that can lead to conflict.
