Analysis of English Speaking Performance: Exploring Students’ Errors and thee Causes of the First-Year High School, at Al-Muslimun Boarding School, Seikijang KeyWord: Errors and the Causes, Speech, Boarding School. This study aimed to determine speech errors and their causes in grade 1 students of Al-Muslimun Seikijang Islamic Boarding School. Muhadhoroh is a speech practice activity in 3 languages (Arabic, English, and Indonesian). In this case, the presence or absence of segmental phoneme pronunciation errors in grade 1 students of Al-Muslimun Seikijang Islamic Boarding School was measured. This research was conducted with qualitative research. Applying the research instrument, namely documentation. Data collection on participants was carried out starting from August 2, 2024. The researcher began by gathering 1st-grade high school students to conduct a lottery and start a speech. According to Muhadhoroh, previously the speech was combined with other classes and not just one class, but because the researcher wanted to collect data, the 1st grade high school students were combined to start giving speeches and collecting data. This is to make it easier for researchers to collect data and analyze problems. The pronunciation errors included 19 initial vowel errors, 112 middle vowel errors, 2 initial consonant errors, and 5 middle consonant errors. In the vocabulary aspect there were 9 errors, in the fluency aspect there were 12 errors. And in the comprehension aspect, there were 6 errors. This was mostly caused by negligence and dislike of English, but the students were aware of their mistakes and could be changed from their mistakes. So it can be concluded that this is a mistake, not an error. x TABLE OF
