Producing oil from a well can be done in two ways, namely natural flow and artificial lift methods. In the natural flow method, the pressure in the reservoir still has the ability to flow reservoir fluid to the surface, due to high reservoir pressure. One method of artificial lift is using an ESP (Electrical Submersible Pump). ESP is a series of centrifugal pumps consisting of several units used to lift fluid from the well to the surface. The problem in this study is that the X well installs an incorrect number of stages with a value of 58 and a pump setting depth of 872 ft with a water cut of 99% so that it can cause a reduction in reservoir pressure capability so that this results in a decrease in the ability of the ESP pump to produce reservoir fluid to the surface. The sensitivity results using the Prosper 7.5 simulator simulation to the variation of changes in pump stages namely 100, 120 and 130 and pump setting depths namely 800 ft, 1500 ft, and 1770 ft in the scenario that has been tested obtained that at the number of stages 130 against the pump capacity obtained a production rate of 4117.8 STB / day while at the pump setting depth (PSD) at well X which is 1770 ft can produce a production rate of 3545 STB / day from the optimum condition.
