Analisis Pengaruh Jeda Waktu Pencampuran Abu Kelapa Sawit Terhadap Sifat Fisik Tanah Gambut Terstabilisasi Kapur Tohor
Peat soil has a high organic content and low ash content, so it has technical properties that are detrimental to civil structures. Several methods of improving and stabilizing peat soils have been applied, but each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, a study was conducted to determine the effect of stabilizing peat soil using quicklime and palm oil ash (POA), the tests carried out in this study were tests for water content, specific gravity, bulk density, and gradation analysis. This research was conducted using the percentage of quicklime locked at 5% and for palm ashes with variations of 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%. The results showed that the addition of calcium oxide and POA can affect the characteristics of the original peat soil. The addition of 5% calcium oxide reduced the water content and increased the bulk density, but only slightly increased the specific gravity. Meanwhile, the addition of POA resulted in a more significant increase in specific gravity and bulk density, especially at a 5% addition rate, which produced the highest value. The mixing time did not have a significant impact on the test results. However, in the gradation analysis, the percentage of material passing through a 200 sieve increased with the addition of POA. It should be noted that this result was unstable if the test was delayed for 28 days. Therefore, the addition of 5% hydrated lime and 5% POA can be an optimal choice to improve the characteristics of original peat soil.
