Solar energy is a form of unlimited energy sourced from sunlight and renewable energy, because solar energy is considered to never run out while the sun is still shining, and solar energy does not have a negative impact on the environment. The use of solar energy with PLTS systems, both small and large scale, has been widely applied. Therefore the development of using solar energy as a source of electrical energy for fishing boats does not rule out the possibility of being realized. The purpose of this research is to plan a solar power plant on a fishing boat as a power generator to supply electricity from the motor to other electronic devices on the fishing boat for convenience in finding fish in the sea. The method used is a mixture of qualitative and quantitative methods to support planning. The results of the research obtained are the specifications for the components of the solar power plant, namely the specifications for the components for the solar power plant, namely the solar cell used has Type = Monocrystalline, Power at STC (PmSTC) = 400 Wp, Max power voltage (Vmp) = 24 V, Short circuit current (ISc) = 10.14 A, Solar cell length = 1.979 m, Solar cell wide = 1.002 m and Solar cell hight = 0.035 m. The specifications for the planned battery are LI ion type, Type = Li ion, Ib (Battery current) = 1500Ah, Vb (Battery voltage) = 12 volts, Pb (Battery power) = 18,000 Wh, Battery length = 0.401 m, Battery wide = 0.351 m, Battery hight = 0.344 m, Battery Volume = 0.07m3, Depth of Discharge = 80 % for the solar charger controler used has ImpArray = 80 Amp, DCload amp = 413.54 Amp max PV input 150 V, voltage range 12~48 V, with dimensions = 40 cm x 22 cm x 15 cm, and the inverter component has a maximum power capacity = 100 watts, DC Input = 12 V, Ac output = 220 V, with dimensions = 40 cm x 21cm x 17cm. From the calculation results, it will be known the number of each component of the solar power plant, including the solar panels used which have a total of 12 units with 2 units of batteries, 1 unit of solar charger controller and 1 unit of inverter. With the number of components and the size of each component, a working drawing for the installation of a solar power system on a fishing boat can be obtained which is presented in the attachment to the final project. Based on an economic analysis for investing in solar power plants, the total funds needed are Rp. 64,561,000. As for planning a return on capital for the construction of the PLTS system on fishing boats, several possibilities have been obtained. Namely, in possibility I is the possibility of a small catch with a weekly income of Rp. 850,000 with a payback period of 76 weeks or 19 months, in possibility II, namely the possibility of a medium catch with a weekly income of Rp. 1,885,000 with a payback period of 34.3 weeks or 8.5 months (rounded 9 months), in possibility III, namely the possibility of a big catch with an income per week of Rp. 2,460,000 with a payback period of 26.3 weeks or 6.5 months (7 months rounded).
