Tinjauan Kriminologi terhadap Aktivitas Illegal Logging (Studi Kasus di Kawasan Hutan Lindung Bukit Betabuh Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi)

This study aims to determine Illegal logging Activities (Case Study in the Bukit Betabuh Protected Forest Area, Kuantan Singingi Regency). The informants of this research consisted of the government, the surrounding community and the perpetrators of illegal logging. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. After obtaining the required data and information, it is analyzed through qualitative data grouping and research conclusions are drawn. The results of the study concluded that the activity of logging or illegal logging was against and against the law. Where the main activity corresponds to the problem in this research, namely the existence of illegal longging activities that occur in the Bukit Betabuh Protection Forest then the logs from the logging are sold in several areas of Kuantan Singingi Regency and outside the province. This illegal logging activity can occur due to the desire to get profit, lack of guard by forest rangers in protected forest areas and the ease of access to enter the protected forest so that perpetrators can cut down trees easily.
