Peranan Pebatinan dalam Perkawinan Sesuku di Desa Kiyap Jaya Kecamatan Bandar Seikijang Kabupaten Pelalawan

Siti Nurhaliza - Personal Name; Zulherman Idris - Personal Name;

Sasuku marriage is a prohibited act in Kiyap Jaya Village, Bandar Seikijang District, Pelalawan District. Even though it is forbidden to ignore this, this is done because the customary rules regarding forbidden marriages are not followed by the community at all. This is because people no longer regard same-sex marriage as an important issue and see this as a myth. Illegal marriages that are carried out by people in various parts of Indonesia occur a lot. In this study the authors have a main problem, namely what are the factors that cause same-ethnic marriage in the Pebatinan Kiap community in Bandar Seikijang District, Pelalawan Regency and what is the role of pebatinan in sameethnic marriage in Kiyap Jaya Village, Bandar Seikijang District, Pelalawan Regency The type of legal research method that researchers use in thesis research is this type of research is included in observational research and the nature of this research is analytical descriptive, namely providing an overview of the object under study from the data and samples that have been collected by the author. Regarding the results of the research that the authors found, namely the factors that resulted in the occurrence of one-tribe marriages, namely not understanding the customary law that applies in their area, not knowing the origin of the tribe, parents who do not provide information or learning about regional customs and customs to children, adolescents -Teenagers who don't want to know about customs or laws, have never attended tribal events, have been in dating relationships for a long time, and prioritize modern lifestyles and ignore traditional provisions. Sera Pebatin has the same role in overcoming same-sex marriage in Kiyap Jaya Village, Bandar Seikijang District, Pelalawan Regency, namely that pebatin is a judge in all customary issues, and also pebatin can find solutions to overcome same-ethnic marriage. Perbatinan has a central position in community development and leadership. Perbatinan also always has a role in society and that role is as a peace judge who has the right to weigh the severity of the sanctions that must be imposed on members of the community who violate customary rules.
