Hubungan Antara Kontrol Diri dengan Perilaku Konsumtif Produk Kosmetik Dikalangan Mahasiswi Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Islam Riau
Consumptive behavior is a buying activity that is based on a momentary desire and tends to follow the desire for pleasure without considering logically. One of the factors that influence consumptive behavior is low self-control. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and consumptive behavior towards cosmetics products among female students. This research uses quantitative research. The population in this study was 743 students of the Faculty of Psychology, Riau Islamic University. The subjects in this study were 260 female students who were selected through purposive sampling techniques. The data collection method uses a scale of self-control and headwind of consumptive behavior. The data analysis method uses Spearman rank correlations analysis technique. The correlation result in this study was -0.483 with a sig value of 0.000 (p < 0.05 ). This indicates the direction of negative relationships that can be concluded that the higher the self-control, the lower the consumptive behavior, and vice versa the lower the self-control, the higher the consumptive behavior .
