Analisis Usaha Agroindustri dan Pemasaran Lemang di Kecamatan Sail Kota Pekanbaru Provinsi Riau
Lemang is a product of glutinous rice which uses a method of cooking
glutinous rice into rice using a bamboo container which is covered in banana
leaves and then grilled/roasted over a fire. Lemang is a typical food that is
usually served on holidays and various other celebrations. This study aims to
determine 1). characteristics of entrepreneurs and lemang business profiles, 2).
procurement of raw materials and use of raw materials, procurement of
supporting materials, processing technology, production processes, and
production, labor in the lemang business, 3). production costs, income, business
efficiency and added value, in the lemang business, 4) lemang marketing in
Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted for 6 months, starting from
February 2023 to June 2023. This research used a survey method. Respondents
amounted to 13 lemang entrepreneurs in Pekanbaru City. Respondents were
obtained by census. The data analysis technique of this research uses descriptive
analysis method. The results showed that the average age of lemang
entrepreneurs ranged from 47-48 years, 48-50 years, 51-53 years, each of which
was 4 people (30.77%). Entrepreneur education is still relatively low, with an
average length of education of 9 years. The average number of dependents is
dominated by 2-4 people, 10 people (76.92%). The average lemang business
experience is 12.77 years. The business experience of lemang entrepreneurs is
dominated by 9-13 years and 14-18 years with 5 people each (38.46%). Making
lemang requires simple technology that only requires household equipment. Gross
income is the amount of lemang production multiplied by the price prevailing in
the study area. Lemang production in the Cinta Raja Village averages 24.62
kg/production process at a price of Rp. 31,538.46/kg so that the gross income
earned is Rp. 776,476.89, -. Revenue and cost ratio (RCR) for lemang processing
business is 2.19. The marketing channel for the lemang agro-industry in Sail
District consists of 3 marketing channels. Marketing channel I involves
entrepreneurs and consumers. Marketing channel II involves entrepreneurs,
retailers and consumers. Marketing channel III namely: entrepreneur, collector
trader-retailer-consumer.
