This study intends to determine the situation, events and communicative actions at the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday at the Sumua Gadang Mosque in Pekanbaru City. The existence of religious communication activities at the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday at the Sumua Gadang Mosque, Pekanbaru City. This research focuses on communication activities at the Commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday at the Sumua Gadang Mosque in Pekanbaru City by using an ethnographic study of communication. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with an ethnographic study of communication. Subjects in this study were 3 informants who were considered to understand, be trusted, and were competent. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations and documentation. Techniques to check the validity of the data using the participation of researchers and triangulation of sources. This study uses ethnography of communication by looking at situations, events and communicative actions on the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday. The results of this study are first: communicative situations, at the commemoration of the Prophet's birthday at the Sumua Gadang mosque, there are 3 (three) situations, namely the preparation situation, the implementation situation and the evaluation situation. Second: Communicative events, there is the implementation of the commemoration of the Prophet's birthday by reciting nerves of anam when sitting dhikr, the prophet's prayer when ratik tagak and eating bajamba. Third: Communicative Actions, at the Sumua Gadang mosque, there are orders, statements, requests to the Tuanku, dhikr experts and Labi Katik Imam employees and nonverbal behavior (describing a tradition that has been carried out since long ago as a form of love for the Prophet Muhammad).
