This research has the theme of customary sanctions received by endogamous marriage actors in Binuang Village, Kampar Regency, Bangkinang District, the majority in this region are Muslim and have customs that have been passed down from generation to generation by ancestors. Customary marriage is "a bond of living together between a man and a woman, which is communal in nature with the aim of obtaining a successor so that life does not become extinct, and the marriage is preceded by a traditional ceremony". Customary marriage is a marriage which is a legal consequence of the rules that apply in indigenous peoples. In Binuang Village, Bangkinang District, Kampar Regency, the concept of marriage with an exogamy system, where a Binuang village is obligated for residents to marry someone from outside their tribe and marry someone from outside their own clan/tribe, this prohibition is generally referred to as endogamous marriage. the population adheres to Islam, therefore the customs adopted by the village of Binuang are the basis of Islamic law, which according to a traditional proverb says "customs are based on syara', syara' are based on the book of Allah" and religious law is based on the Qur'an. From the results of this study, people who still violate these customary rules will be given sanctions in the form of being expelled from customs, not being considered and not being heard if they voice any opinion. This violation is usually caused by biological and genetic reasons as well as changing times and the development of society, changing the paradigm in thinking as a society that wants to leave adat. This study wants to see what sanctions are given and the factors that can cause violations of customary marriage rules in terms of the customary law of Binuang Village, Bangkinang District, Kampar Regency.
