Consumer protection is important for users of products and services. Producers as product producers compete and present various kinds of consumer needs to satisfy their consumers. Producers create products to be sold to the public as a means of satisfying needs. Producer PT Wings Surya with Mie Sedaap instant noodle products and chili powder from the retail market was found to be contaminated with ethylene dioxide which is very contrary to the provisions of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection The problems in this research include, among other things, the form of consumer protection for delicious noodle food which contains the dangerous substance ethylene oxide based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection (Case Study at BPOM Pekanbaru City) and what are the barriers to consumer protection for flavored noodle food which contains the dangerous substance ethylene oxide based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection (Case Study at BPOM Pekanbaru City) This research is included in the category of empirical normative legal research. This is a type of research that uses secondary data (from the library) and is supported by primary data, such as an interview with someone whose statement is needed. And for the nature of this research is descriptive it can also be described as research in which the data collection process allows the researcher to produce a description of the social phenomenon under study. The research results show that legal protection for consumers against food containing harmful chemicals, consumers in demanding compensation rights due to fraud caused by business actors can sue by means of litigation or non-litigation. Obstacles to Consumer Protection in obtaining legal protection is still a lack of socialization to the public regarding the flow of procedures for the complaint process to the public which results in the public being confused in obtaining protection that has not proceeded properly according to the specified regulations.
