With the development of more and more processed food products that have been circulating in Indonesia, especially MSME products and processed household products, in this case the government must be more careful in the process of monitoring food products and ensuring that these products are safe for consumption by the public. Food products produced by processing must comply with the provisions of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. But it still often gets processed food products that do not use the composition label. The main problem that becomes the main problem of this research is the application of consumer legal protection for micro, small and medium food products (MSMEs) in the city of Pekanbaru and the application of consumer legal protection for the products of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the city of Pekanbaru. The method in writing this report is the juridical-normative method. By collecting data, and also using literature methods and qualitative approaches. Analysis of the data used with descriptive data analysis. The writing of this thesis is used to examine the application of consumer-related protection laws. As for the results of the study, namely, the application of consumer legal protection for food products, micro, small and medium enterprises in Pekanbaru, there are still many who commit violations, in this case referring to Article 1 letter (i) of the consumer protection law if a consumer can harm in consuming processed products, namely the protection obtained by consumers is less than optimal. As a result, there are many obstacles to the application of consumer protection law, namely the problem of registering food product names and understanding among actors (MSMEs) the cause of not registering their food product names, which is related to consumer protection law, namely paragraph no 8 of 1999.
