Perlindungan Hukum terhadap Pemilik Rental Mobil dalam Perjanjian Sewa Menyewa Mobil di Chaniago Rent Car Pekanbaru Berdasarkan Undang-undang Nomor 8 Tahun 1999 Tentang Perlindungan Konsumen
Legal protection for business actors is regulated in Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection in Article 6 letter b concerning the Rights of Business Actors, namely the right to obtain legal protection from the actions of consumers who have bad intentions, but there are still consumers who have bad intentions who can cause losses for business actors. Regarding this research, the author formulates legal issues, namely: First, what is the legal protection for car rental owners in car rental agreements at Chaniago Rent Car Pekanbaru? Second, what are the methods for resolving disputes that can cause losses for car rental owners at Chaniago Rent Car Pekanbaru? For this research, the author used a type of empirical legal research, namely legal research that examines law by conceptualizing it as real behavior, as unwritten social phenomena obtained from conducting interviews or direct observations obtained from the field. The data and data sources that the author uses are primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques that the author uses are observation, interview and documentation techniques. Meanwhile, the method of drawing conclusions that the author uses in this research is a deductive method, namely drawing conclusions from general to specific matters. From the results of research and discussion, what the author found is as follows: First, legal protection for car rental owners based on Article 6 number 2 of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection explains that car rental owners have their rights protected from all renter behavior that can cause losses. Second, the resolution of disputes over losses arising from consumer negligence refers to the substance of the agreement, namely that dispute resolution is resolved by means of non-litigation or deliberation which can be expected as far as possible not to damage business relationships.
