In 2020 the divorce rate in Indonesia has increased, including in the Pekanbaru Religious Court, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study argues that the government's policy regarding PSBB during the COVID-19 pandemic which aims to maintain family health has turned out to be a factor in increasing divorce in the Religious Courts. The formulation of the problem is what factors are the cause of the increase in the divorce rate in the city of Pekanbaru during the COVID- 19 period in 2020. Does the PSBB policy have anything to do with the number of divorces that occurred at the Pekanbaru City Religious Court during the Covid-19 period in 2020 This type of research is the type of research that will be used by the author is normative research. The applicable normative law is applied to concrete events in order to achieve the stated goals. The nature of this research is descriptive. Descriptive research is research conducted to determine the value of independent variables, either one or more variables without making comparisons, or connecting one variable to another. The results showed that the reason for the increase in divorce lawsuits that occurred in the Pekanbaru City Religious Court was motivated by economic factors. Many breadwinners have been laid off due to the PSBB policy. As a result, this causes continuous quarrels between husband and wife because the husband is unable to support his family because he does not have a job and it is difficult to get a new job. The second highest reason for the occurrence of divorce cases is due to infidelity or the presence of a third party. This often happens to couples who work outside the city.
