Perlindungan Konsumen terhadap Makanan Ringan Tanpa Label Produk di Kota Pekanbaru Menurut Undang-undang Nomor 8 Tahun 1999 Tentang Perlindungan Konsumen
Currently, many unlabeled foods are found, therefore protection is needed for consumers of snacks without labels, where labels are a source of information that producers want to convey to consumers about a product. The obligation to include product labels is regulated in Article 8 point (1) and Article 7a of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection which states that business actors are obliged to act in good faith and provide honest and accurate information about the condition of the goods and/or services being traded, as well as Traders must ensure the quality of the goods produced. In this research, there are several legal problem formulations, namely as follows. First, how is the implementation of consumer protection for snacks without product labels in Pekanbaru City according to Law Number 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection? Second, what are the obstacles in implementing consumer protection for snacks without product labels in Pekanbaru City according to Law Number 8 of 1999? 1999 About Consumer Protection? For this research, the author used a type of empirical legal research, namely by going into the field to obtain some data. The data and data sources that the author uses are primary and secondary data, while the data collection techniques that the author uses are observation, interviews and documentation techniques. Meanwhile, the method of drawing conclusions that the author uses in this research is the deductive method, namely drawing conclusions from general to specific matters. From the results of the research and discussion, what the author found is as follows: First, the implementation of consumer protection provided by Unlabeled Snack Food business actors in Pekanbaru City to consumers has not been implemented, because business actors are still marketing snack products without including labels on their products, which is the case. This is not in accordance with Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. Second, the obstacles in providing consumer protection for snacks without product labels in Pekanbaru City are seen from two sides, namely obstacles from business actors and obstacles from consumers of snacks without labels.
