The development of increasingly sophisticated technology means that we can easily access videos that contain pornographic elements. Not only knowledge, but with the facilities in this era of globalization, we can easily have and disseminate videos that contain elements of pornographic crimes. With the existence of computer technology, cellphones and the internet, information regarding pornographic material has spread faster than other information media. Crimes that violate norms of decency via electronic media often occur in the jurisdiction of the Riau Regional Police. This is proven by the existence of public complaints and accompanying police reports. This research has the main problem that will be discussed, namely, Investigation of the Criminal Act of Widespread Immoral Videos in the Riau Regional Police's Legal Area and secondly the obstacles in investigating the criminal act of widespread immoral videos in the Riau Regional Police's area, and the aim of this research is the same. with the main problem formulation, namely to find out the results of the problem formulation created by the researcher. This legal research is a type of Empirical sociology. This type of research method is intended to solve current problems by collecting data and compiling or clarifying it, then analyzing and looking at legal realities in society to then obtain results. The research results obtained by the author are: Law enforcement carried out by investigators is carried out in accordance with what is mandated in the applicable law. The investigation process carried out, especially by the police, is in accordance with applicable procedures, starting from receiving the report submitted by the victim, requesting a more detailed submission of the report provided by the reporter, collecting witnesses and collecting evidence to support the report provided by reported, and the inhibiting factors in carrying out the investigation process are, the lack of evidence prepared or owned by the reporter, the difficulty in tracking down the perpetrator who used fake addresses and data in carrying out the crime, police human resources who still do not understand the form of technology.
