This research includes an empirical legal study in which the authors are on the ground to collect the data that will provide the research. The nature of this study is descriptive, or descriptive, that it defines or describes the existing reality of the practice of marriage in the people of the pinang river village. Studies have found that the requirements for formal marriage ina marriage are rooted in age-old customs and beliefs, and that before other religions in Indonesia have been adopted and have always been carried out.
