The main problem in this research is how are the police efforts in dealing with cases of criminal acts of sexual abuse against children in the jurisdiction of the Lubuk Batu Jaya Police, Indragiri Hulu Regency? and What are the police obstacles in dealing with cases of criminal acts of sexual abuse against children in the jurisdiction of the Lubuk Batu Jaya Police, Indragiri Hulu Regency?. The type of research used in this study is observational research through survey methods, namely research conducted in the field in order to obtain specific data, so that it is useful to answer any problems encountered through interviews as a data collection tool, while in terms of its nature, research This is a descriptive study, namely research conducted to obtain a clear and detailed explanation regarding efforts to overcome the crime of sexual abuse of children in the legal area of the Lubuk Batu Jaya Police, Indragiri Hulu Regency. As for the factors that cause child abuse, namely the low level of education and the economy. The low level of formal education in a person can have an impact on society and the person concerned is easily influenced to commit a crime without thinking about the consequences of his actions. Due to low education, it is related to the economic level, where the economy is also one of the causes of someone committing an act that violates legal norms. Efforts are being made by the Police to conduct socialization to schools, both Elementary Schools (SD), Junior High Schools (SMP), and High Schools (SMA) regarding the crime of sexual abuse, this socialization is expected to be able to add insight and understanding of students , so that they can take care of each other and remind each other.
