The problem of the crime of theft of palm fruit, especially in Kuantan Singingi Regency. Based on data from the Criminal Investigation Unit (Sat Reskrim) of the Kuantan Singingi Resort Police (Polres), that cases of palm oil theft have increased in 2020 with this case, it becomes a demand for the police to anticipate it more optimally due to the high spike in the increase in cases. palm theft, it can be said that efforts to tackle the theft of palm oil have not run optimally compared to 2019. The main problem of the research is what are the factors causing the criminal act of theft of palm fruit in the jurisdiction of the Kuantan Singingi Resort Police, and how are the efforts to overcome the crime of theft of palm fruit in the jurisdiction of the Kuantan Singingi Resort Police. The research method is a type of legal research, observational research or survey, while its nature is descriptive, that is, where the author describes in a clear and detailed manner the problems to be studied. The results showed that the factor causing the criminal act of theft of palm fruit in the jurisdiction of the Kuantan Singingi Resort Police was an economic factor where the perpetrator did not have money to finance daily needs, but this was basically due to the low morale of the perpetrator so that he committed a crime and generally took the form of a crime. problems of poverty, unemployment and others and accompanied by environmental factors, and Efforts to overcome the crime of palm fruit theft in the jurisdiction of the Kuantan Singingi Resort Police are not going well due to obstacles in their implementation even though the police have coordinated and cooperated between officers and between agencies related to the problem, carry out routine patrols/raids, conduct legal counseling to the public and follow up on any reports of criminal acts including the theft of oil palm fresh fruit bunches, then provide strict legal sanctions against dap perpetrators of criminal acts in order to provide a deterrent effect in accordance with the sense of justice in society and legal certainty.
