Pelaksanaan Tanggung Jawab terhadap Pengiriman Barang dalam Angkutan Laut Menurut Undang-undang No.8 Tahun 1999 tentang Perlindungan Konsumen pada Pelabuhan Bambu Kuning Pekanbaru
Transportation is a reciprocal agreement between the carrier and the sender, in which the carrier binds himself to organize the safe transportation of goods from one place to another. Bambu Kuning Port, one of the ports serving goods transportation services by sea. Facts in the field show that there are still actions that cause harm to the recipient of the goods as not as expected and inconvenience to the recipient and the sender of the goods. The main problem of this research is how is the implementation of responsibility for shipping goods in sea transportation according to Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and what legal remedies are taken if consumers suffer losses to goods in sea transportation. The type and nature of this research includes observational research, where this research goes directly to the field to obtain accurate data by conducting interviews, and this research is descriptive in nature which explains in detail providing an explanation or description of the subject matter being studied. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the responsibilities of the Bambu Kuning Port has not fully carried out its responsibilities, regarding legal remedies against filing compensation if the consumer suffers a loss of damaged or lost goods and does not carry out his obligations properly, then the Port will be responsible be responsible for the damage or loss of these goods by compensating for losses in accordance with the nominal value of the damaged or lost goods and efforts to submit a claim through the conditions set by the Bambu Kuning Port.
