Anggun Sibagariang - Personal Name; Zulherman Idris - Personal Name;

Family marriages still occur today even though many people have migrated from their respective villages to overseas areas, such as the indigenous peoples in Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency. In this area there are couples who carry out family marriages, even though they have been given sanctions, even though it is known that the Toba Batak tradition is prohibited for violating norms that are still upheld today. The main problem in this study is how to carry out family marriages in the Toga Naipospos Indigenous Community in Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan and what are the consequences and punishments for carrying out clan marriages in the Toga Naipospos Customs in Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan. While the research method is Observational research using a survey system, in which the authors go directly to the research location to obtain the necessary data using data collection tools through interviews, questionnaires and observations. The nature of this research is descriptive which means this research provides a clear and detailed picture. The result of the discussion is that the implementation of clan marriages in the Toga Naipospos Indigenous community is the same as what is done in Batak indigenous peoples in general, such as Mangaririt or choosing a potential life partner, Patua Hata or also known as the agreement of the two young people, Marhusip or whispering then Marhata Sinamot or the buyer's money to the woman to become a wife, Martumpol or engagement, martonggo raja or to prepare everything for the purposes of the party, the wedding blessing in the church and followed by a traditional party or ulaon unjuk. As for the consequences and punishments for carrying out family marriages at the Toga Naipospos Customs in Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan, by giving customary sanctions, namely expelling them from the area or giving punishments for not being able to participate in traditional Batak events or associations.
