Indonesia is a developing country now trying to catch up by means of national development. National development aims to create a just and prosperous society that is materially and spiritually evenly distributed based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. The area of focus is economic development. The current economic development in Indonesia has resulted in a higher level of community needs. ways that can be done by borrowing money from various sources of existing funds. Borrowing money can be done without losing the item, so the public can borrow money from individuals or from a financial institution. So in a more concrete way, the problem of this research is how is the form of responsibility at PT Pegadaian Kanwil II Pekanbaru in the event of damage to mortgage collateral and how disputes are resolved against customers who experience damage to mortgage collateral. The method used is the Inductive method, namely by taking facts or data related to research, analyzed and then general conclusions are drawn. The purpose of this research is to find out about the form of responsibility at PT Pegadaian Kanwil II Pekanbaru in the event of damage to mortgage collateral and to find out how disputes are resolved against customers who experience damage to mortgage collateral. Forms of Responsibility at PT Pegadaian Kanwil II Pekanbaru in the Event of Damage to Pawn Collateral and How to Settle Disputes Against Customers Who Have Damaged Pawn Collateral. then the pawnshop is fully responsible for its customers, accountability by way of compensation agreed by each party and efforts to settle compensation can be through deliberation for consensus and if no agreement is found then the parties can go through court. Based on this research, it is necessary to have clear and comprehensive procedures and legal rules for liability for damage and loss of pawn goods at PT Pegadaian (Perseo) according to the rules of pawnshop law, so that settlement of compensation issues does not cause harm to customers.
