Livestock are domesticated animals (cattle, horses, goats and so on) that are bred for production purposes. At a smaller level, livestock are pets that are deliberately kept by someone so that they can benefit from them as a source of income for their owner. The livestock owner as the person who controls the livestock is responsible for any consequences caused by the livestock. Any form of loss caused by livestock is entirely the responsibility of the owner. Livestock owners should not let their livestock run loose without supervision because this could risk causing harm to other people. The livestock owner's negligence in supervising his livestock resulting in harm to other people can be classified as an unlawful act. This research examines the legal responsibility for the negligence of livestock owners which results in losses in Limbungan Village, East Rumbai District, Pekanbaru City based on the Civil Code and what are the obstacles in carrying out legal responsibility for the negligence of livestock owners which results in losses in Limbungan District, District. East Rumbai, Pekanbaru City. The data collected is primary data and secondary data. The method used is descriptive qualitative. This research will examine the main problem according to the scope and identification of the problem through a sociological approach. Based on sociological research methods, the data source used in this research is a secondary data source consisting of 3 legal materials, namely: primary legal materials, secondary legal materials, and tertiary legal materials. Legal Responsibility for the Negligence of Livestock Owners Which Resulted in Losses in the Limbungan Village, East Rumbai District, Pekanbaru City, based on the Civil Code, stems, among other things, from the actions of livestock owners who release their livestock untied and without supervision, which is actually realized to be very risky. Livestock that are left free without the slightest supervision can do things that are detrimental to other people. Without the owner's knowledge, livestock can cross and obstruct road traffic and if they are hit, both parties will suffer losses. When this loss occurs, the farmer, as the owner, must ultimately be responsible for the consequences caused to his livestock. This is in accordance with what is regulated in Article 1368 of the Civil Code. In the event that an accident occurs due to livestock, the livestock owner does not want to compensate for the loss because he also experienced losses due to this.
