Aggravated theft is ordinary theft which in its implementation is accompanied by certain aggravating circumstances. In the old Criminal Code, the crime of theft with aggravation was regulated in Article 363. Meanwhile, in Law 1/2023 concerning the new Criminal Code, which came into effect 3 years from the date of promulgation, theft with aggravation was regulated in Article 479 The formulation of the problem in this thesis research is, First, what are the factors that cause the crime of theft with weighting in the jurisdiction of the Bagan Sinembah Police. Second, what are the efforts to overcome criminal acts of theft with weighting in the jurisdiction of the Bagan Sinembah The research method in this thesis uses empirical legal research methods, namely obtaining data from primary data, namely obtaining data directly from the field based on respondents' responses by means of interviews. And the nature of this research is descriptive analysis, namely finding initial data on the problem to be studied. Meanwhile, the data collection tools that the author uses are observation, interviews and documentation. With the method of drawing conclusions, the deductive method is drawing conclusions from general to specific matters. From the results of the research and discussion that researchers found in this study, the factors that cause the crime of theft with weighting are economic factors, addiction to illegal drugs, the influence of friends and lack of parental supervision, and efforts to overcome the crime of theft with The burden of the Bagan Sinembah police is non-penal (preventive) or preventive measures before a criminal act occurs and penal (repressive) or legal measures.
