Geologi dan Asosiasi Fasies Formasi Sangkarewang Daerah Kolok Nan Tuo dan Sekitarnya, Kecamatan Barangin, Kota Sawahlunto, Provinsi Sumatera Barat
This research was conducted in Kolok Nan Tuo Village and its surroundings, Barangin District, Sawahlunto City, West Sumatra Province. The purpose of this study is to determine the geological conditions of the study area, determine the facies distribution, depositional environment and determine the potential of oil and gas systems in the study area. The method used is surface geological mapping and laboratory analysis (analysis facies, analysis petrography and analysis TOC). Based on the analysis of geological conditions carried out in the study area, two geomorphological units were found, namely the Fluvial Sloping Hills Unit and the Slightly Steep Denudational Hills Unit. The flow patterns are trellis flow patterns and dendritic flow patterns. The stratigraphy of the study area obtained from old to young is the Limestone Unit of the Silungkang Formation, Triassic Granite Intrusion, then the Claystone Unit, Carbonate Sandstone Unit and Sandstone Unit from the Sangkarewang Formation. The results of the facies analysis of the study area are included in deep lake facies andlake margin deposits. Facies associationdeep lake facies consists of facies codes (Fsc, Fl, Sh, Fcf and Sg). Meanwhile in the association lake margin deposits there consists of facies code (Sp, Flb, Fsc, Sc, Sguc and Sm). The potential for oil and gas in the study area based on the TOC analysis that was carried out found that in the 3 samples that were subjected to the TOC test, the samples measured had a TOC value range of 3.69 – 4.58%. Based on these results, it can be categorized as very good - perfect source rock.
