Pengaruh Kecepatan Kendaraan Roda Empat pada Kampas Rem (Disc Brake) terhadap Laju Keausan, Kekerasan (Brinell) dan Mikrostruktur
Brake pads are a vehicle component that functions to slow down or stop the speed of vehicles, especially land vehicles, because it determines the comfort and safety of a vehicle. This research aims to determine the effect of wheeled vehicle speed four on brake lining (Disc Brake) on wear rate, hardness (Brinell) and microstructure. In this study, variations in the speed of four-wheeled vehicles selected from speeds of 30 km/h, 40 km/h and 50 km/h at any time 10 minute speed held with a load of 25 kg. Highest wear rate test results occurs at a speed of 50 km/h is 2,069.10-6 g/mm2.second. This matter due to the fact that the influence of the speed of four-wheeled vehicles is increasing increasing when braking for a predetermined time can cause.Buying from brake pads to brake disks increases wear on the brake pads made from genuine or non-asbestos material. Hardness test results(Brinell) The highest occurs at a four-wheeled vehicle speed of 30 km/hour, namely 51.14 BHN. The results of microstructural observations show that the speed is higher Four-wheeled vehicles cause more scratches on the brake pads thereby increasing the wear rate of the brake lining.
