The Effect Of Flash Card On Students' Mastery Of Simple Past Tense At Nine Grade Student Mts N 3 Pekanbaru
This research aimed to find out the effect of flashcard on students’ mastery of simple past tense. The subject of this research was ninth-grade students of MTs N 3 PEKANBARU. The research was done under a quasi-experimental design that collected the data using pre–test and post-tests. The instrument of this research is multiple choice questions pre-test and post-test, there was 20 questions. The sample of this research was 69 students of ninth grade at MTs N 3 PEKANBARU. This research used experiment design with two classes namely experiment and control class. Based on the research there was a significant effect of using Flashcards on learning in simple past tense. The students’ past tense was taught using flashcards and the past tense was taught without. It showed from the students’ Mann-Whitney U test results from control and experimental classes. The researcher find out the effect using flashcard on students’ mastery of simple past tense. The result of (Sig. 2-tailed) is 0.000 which is lower than the level of significance 0.05. So, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted.
