Studi Pengaruh Penambahan Surfaktan Anionik Terhadap Perubahan Kebasahan Batu Pasir Yang Mengandung Clay Montmorillonite Dengan Menggunakan Metode Imbibisi Spontan

Jovin Markuri Efendi - Personal Name; Ira Herawati, - Personal Name;

Oil and gas exploration and production require efficient techniques to increase oil recovery from reservoirs. One of the factors that affect the efficiency of oil recovery is the wettability of the reservoir rock. One method that can overcome the problem of decreasing production is using EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery), EOR in this study uses a type of chemical EOR method, namely surfactants, surfactants can reduce interfacial tension (IFT) and change the wettability of reservoir rocks. This study uses an anionic surfactant type which is expected to be able to change the wettability of sandstone containing clay. Spontaneous imbibition will be carried out in this test to assess the ability and success of a surfactant mixture in obtaining a wettability index value for interpreting the value of the wettability of sandstone containing clay. The results of this study indicate that the wettability index of the AEC surfactant is greater (1.02) than the wettability index value produced by the LABS surfactant (0.94). This shows that the AEC surfactant is better at changing the wettability of sandstone containing clay compared to the LABS surfactant. The type of clay and the concentration of the surfactant affect the wettability of the rock. The presence of montmorillonite clay tends to make the wettability of sandstone become water wet. And the surfactant concentration of 1% produces a larger IW value (1.02) compared to 2% surfactant with an IW value (0.94) in changing the wettability of rocks into water wet, it does not mean that injecting a high surfactant concentration produces an optimal wettability index value.
