Penerapan Perlindungan Konsumen Atas Produk Makanan Frozenfood di Kota Pekanbaru
As time goes by, more and more processed food products are appearing in Indonesia, especially Frozenfood processed food products. In this case, the government must be more careful in the process of monitoring food products and ensure that processed food products must comply with the provisions in Article 8 letter (i) Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. However, it is still common to find processed food products that do not include labels and composition. The main problem that is the main problem in this research is, how to apply consumer legal protection for Frozenfood processed food products in Pekanbaru City and what are the obstacles in implementing consumer legal protection for Frozenfood processed food products in Pekanbaru City. The method for writing this research uses a juridical-empirical legal method. By collecting data, and also using literature methods and qualitative approaches. Data analysis used is descriptive data analysis. This thesis was written to examine the application of laws related to consumer protection. The research results are, First, referring to Article 8 Paragraph 1 letter (i) The protection obtained by consumers is still less than optimal. With the increasing number of findings that there are still violations that are detrimental to consumers, such as the absence of labels or composition on Frozenfood processed foods. The role played by BPOM in supervising processed food products circulating in the community is still not running well, the lack of human resources and coordination between consumers and health agencies or BPOM is an obstacle to the realization of BPOM's efforts to minimize violations that occur in the community, the role of BPOM It is very necessary to monitor the distribution of food. To carry out its duties, BPOM also needs support from various parties, both from consumers and related agencies. Second, the obstacle in registering Frozenfood processed food products is that there are many requirements that must be fulfilled by Frozenfood food business actors, and the lack of information about legal protection education for business actors. This can cause problems in the future if there are consumers who are harmed by consuming processed Frozenfood that does not meet standards. Apart from that, there is also a legal vacuum regarding consumer protection, the Personal Data Protection Law has not been immediately promulgated into regulations and business actors are reluctant to register brands for these business actors, making it difficult for the relevant agencies to control them.
