The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the counselor in the rehabilitation of narcotics prisoners in class IIA Pekanbaru prisons. The type of research used is a qualitative method, using adaptation theory, namely an individual adjustment to the surrounding environment, this adjustment can be interpreted as changing the individual according to environmental conditions, the process of this research location was carried out in Class IIA Pekanbaru, this research was conducted using data collection techniques. by means of observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. After the data and information have been obtained by the author, then analyzed by means of data grouping, from this data grouping the writer can draw more specific conclusions to get a more accurate final conclusion. Based on the research results obtained from key informants and informants that the role of the counselor in the rehabilitation of narcotics prisoners is one of the keys to the success of the rehabilitation because the role of the counselor can change the mindset of narcotics prisoners to be wiser, have a healthy or useful life, and have the intention and enthusiasm. to carry out narcotics rehabilitation.
