The onion slicing machine is a tool used for slicing onions, designed to cut or slice onions that are ready to be processed. One example of onion processing is to make fried onions as a food complement. One of the slicing processes lies in the blade, where the blade's design affects the slicing results and the speed of the chopping time. The blade model has a length of 150mm, a width of 2mm, and a thickness of 1mm, using a round disc with a diameter of 39cm. The length of the blade hole is 110mm, and it uses blades that can be varied, namely 2 blades, 3 blades, and 4 blades, with the distance of the blades from the eating space that can be modified to distances of 2mm, 3mm, and 4mm. Through the modification of a greater number of blades, faster slicing can be achieved in large quantities, thus saving the time needed to slice 1kg of red onions. At a constant machine speed of 358 rpm, testing results showed that 4 blades with a distance of 4mm from the eating space achieved the largest capacity of 111 kg/h with a material weight of 1kg. The slicing results using 3 blades with a distance of 2mm had a capacity of 45kg/h, and with a distance of 3mm had a capacity of 71kg/h, producing neat and uniform slices.
