Parking has become a necessity and there are almost all roads in the city of Pekanbaru. In 2017 there were 122 roads in Pekanbaru City which were permitted to be parking locations with 197 locations recorded or licensed. But for the number of illegal parking points in Pekanbaru City, the Transportation Agency does not have the data, because there is no Department of Transportation that conducts the survey, but only conducts supervision and direct action. The purpose of this study is to find out and explain the supervision of the Transportation Agency on parking in the city of Pekanbaru and its obstacles. The method used is descriptive and quantitative methods; A sample of 61 people consisting of the Head and employees of the UPTD Parking of the Pekanbaru City Transportation Agency, coordinator and community. Techniques for collecting questionnaire data and interviews and analyzing data descriptively and quantitatively. This study concluded that the results of the respondents' responses to recapitulation that Supervision of the Department of Transportation on Parking in Pekanbaru City stated that it was quite good. From the elements of society the results of the study are at 64% in the fairly good category and in the range category 34-66%, from the employee element with a percentage of 80% in the category of 67 - 100% and from the parking coordinator with a percentage 60% are in the good category and are in the range 34-66%. This is because the task of the Pekanbaru City Transportation Agency has not run optimally, this can be proven that there are still illegal parking locations in Pekanbaru City. Actually, the Transportation Agency of Pekanbaru City has taken an effort to disseminate information to parking attendants about the procedures for taking good and true retribution, as well as socializing to the public about the importance of paying parking fees for the interests of regional development. But these efforts did not seem to have a significant effect. So that the target of this sector in increasing Pekanbaru PAD tends to decrease.
