An Analysis Teacher Challenges In Teaching English At Sma Ylpi Pekanbaru

The research method of this research was the qualitative method. The data gathered through observation and interview which were collected from 1 English teachers. The results showed that teacher challenges in teaching English in the school is not easy. There are many challenges faced by the teacher in SMA YLPI Pekanbaru. Such as : lack of students interest in learning English, lack of student basic knowledge, mother tongue interference, rural students. So the teacher challenges in teaching English at SMA YLPI Pekanbaru come from the students. Do not rule out the teacher could be a problem for themselves. Teachers' challenges in teaching English are also faced due to a lack of English limited knowledge and teaching development. The challenge of teaching English from teacher perspective including lack of training, lack of mastery of teaching methods.
