Competitions in Arabic are called Musabaqah, as long as the competition law is Mubah (permissible), however the competition laws can change due to certain factors, for example containing elements of maisyir (gambling), causing damage to one of the parties, whether to someone's property or body, hurting animals or other things. other. And it has become a tradition that in every competition there is a prize for the winner, either in the form of goods or in the form of a certain amount of money. The background of this research is based on the problem in each competition, namely using registration money as a prize. These activities are contrary to sharia law and musabaqah requirements. Due to the public's lack of understanding of the concept of muamalah which is in accordance with sharia, even when they understand, problems like this are often ignored because they are tempted by big prizes, so that levies on each competition participant seem to have become a custom and even become a requirement to take part in the competition. The aim of this research is to find out how fishing competitions practice with prizes in the Tiga Putri fishing pond, Langkat Village, Siak Kecil District, Bengkalis Regency. And what is the legal review of the prizes provided in the fishing competition, whether they are in accordance with Sharia law or vice versa. This research is included in field research using qualitative approach techniques. The data collection techniques in this research used interview, observation and documentation methods. In qualitative research, data analysis techniques are carried out before entering the field, during the field and after completing the field. In the practice of fishing competitions with prizes, there are still things that are not in accordance with the principles of Islamic law, because the prizes for the winners of the competition are taken from the registration ticket money, so there is an element of maysir in them, so such competitions with prizes are not permitted in Islamic law or are haram to be held.
