The Effect Of Comic Online Toward Students’ Reading Comprehension At Smk Yapim Siak Hulu

Students' Reading Comprehension The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of online comics on students' reading comprehension of narrative text. Based on the objectives, the researcher formulated the following problems; is there any significant effect in the use of online comics on students' reading comprehension at Hulu Smk Yapim. The research was conducted at SMK YAPIM SIAK HULU, researchers found that students are less interested in reading English text. Low reading comprehension skills make it difficult for brands to understand and get important information, so that gaps between learning objectives and students' abilities have an impact on whether the learning targets are not achieved. The method used by researchers in this research is experimental design. The population in this study were students of class x SMK YAPIM SIAK HULU in the 2019/2020 school year, with 40 students as the sample of this study. Researchers provide text in the form of multiple choices to measure the extent to which students' understanding abilities with 4 indicators. The instrument used in data collection consisted of 20 items. All students were given a pre-test, namely a test that was carried out before the treatment was carried out using Comic Online, and a post-test, which was a test that was carried out after the student received treatment using Comic Online. The data analysis technique uses the formula from SPSS version 24. It is used to determine whether there is a significant effect between the pre-test and posttest mean scores. In addition, there are two hypotheses; Ho (Hypothesis Zero) means that there is no significant effect of the use of online comics on students' reading ability in grade 1 narrative text at SMK Yapim Siak Hulu. Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) means that there is a significant effect of online comics on reading comprehension of narrative text for first grade students at SMK Yapim Siak Hulu. For decision making, paired sample t test is used, if Sig. (2-tailed) 0, 05 means that the alternative hypothesis is rejected and the null hypothesis is accepted. The affair shows Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000. So that the null hypothesis will be rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted which allows it to be concluded that there is a significant effect of using online comic media on students' reading comprehension in the grade 1 narrative text at SMK Yapim Siak Hulu.
