Analisis Tindak Ilokusi dalam film Anatomy of a Fall.
This research aims to identify and analyse the types and functions of illocutionary acts used by the characters in the film. It also examines the implicatures that appear in the dialogues to uncover the implied meanings behind the utterances. The focus of this study is on the context and situational factors that influence the use of illocutionary acts in the movie Anatomy of a Fall. In addition, this research makes a significant contribution to the fields of pragmatics and linguistics, particularly in understanding how speech acts operate in complex, real-life communication, as portrayed in film dialogue. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, and the research instrument is the researcher. The data were collected from the dialogues in the movie using the documentation technique and analyzed through the uninvolved observation method. The analysis applies Searle’s theory of speech acts, which classifies illocutionary acts into five types: representative, directive, expressive, commissive, and declarative. Each dialogue was analyzed based on its context, function, and the situational factors that shaped the speaker’s intention and the listener’s interpretation. The results reveal that the film features five types of illocutionary acts, with representative acts being the most dominant, suggesting that the characters frequently express statements of fact, belief, and opinion. The implicatures revealed in the movie expose hidden meanings that reflect the characters’ emotions, intentions, and social relationships. Overall, this research contributes to the study of pragmatics by demonstrating how illocutionary acts and implicatures function within contextually rich and realistic communication, thereby deepening the understanding of language use in cinematic discourse.
