Analisis Usahatani Ikan Patin Kolam di Kecamatan Pangkalan Kerinci Kabupaten Pelalawan Provinsi Riau

Pangkalan Kerinci District is one of the Districts in Pelalawan Regency which has quite good potential in cultivating the development of catfish farming. However, the fishery potential has not been fully developed. In addition, the technique of cultivating catfish in Pangkalan Kerinci District is still simple. Factors of production and costs that have not been effective and efficient. So that there is a need for development in farming aimed at improving the welfare and standard of living of catfish farmers. This study aims to analyze: 1) farmer characteristics and business profiles of catfish farming, 2) cultivation techniques, use of production facilities and labor in catfish farming, 3) production costs, income, and efficiency of catfish farming. This research was conducted in Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency from December 2021 to May 2022. The method used is a survey method. The selection of respondents was carried out by simple random sampling of 43 farm owners. The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed: 1) The characteristics of catfish farming farmers in Pangkalan Kerinci District are the average age of farmers is 46 years, the average length of education is 10 years, the average farming experience is 9 years, the average number of family members is 3 people. While the farming profile obtained an average farm pond area of 117 M2, the average production per pond is 763 Kg with an average number of ponds of 4 ponds per farmer with a productivity of 7 Kg/M2. 2) Cultivation techniques and production facilities include pond preparation, stocking of seedlings into ponds, feeding, handling of pests and diseases, harvesting and post-harvesting. The workforce used in catfish farming in Pangkalan Kerinci District is 23.47 family workers/HKP and 24.33/HKP outside the family workforce. 3) Production costs were obtained in the amount of IDR 8,823,003/production period, revenue received by catfish farmers in Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency amounted to IDR 12,967,442/production period, income obtained was IDR 4,144,439/production period, obtained an RCR of 1 .47 means that the farming is profitable and feasible to develop.
