THE EFFECT OF TALK AI APPLICATION TOWARD STUDENTS' SPEAKING SKILLS OF THE TEN GRADE AT SMA NEGERI 3 SIAK HULU
This study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of Talk AI application toward students’ speaking skills of the ten grade at SMA Negeri 3 Siak Hulu. Based on observation, the researcher found that six of the problems is students’ low confidence and high speaking anxiety, limited opportunities for speaking practice, students’ lack of motivation to use English actively, need for effective media and strategies to improve speaking, dependence on traditional classroom instruction, need for effective media and strategies to improve speaking. The method used in this study is quantitative, and the instruments used in this study are tests in the form of pre-tests and post-tests. The pre-test is given at the beginning to determine the initial understanding of students to get a sample of the experimental class and control class, the post-test is given at the end to measure student learning outcomes. The sample of this study is class XI-A as a experimental class and XI-B as a control class. Based on data analysis, by t-test (independent sample test). The average of experimental grade 71,57 while the average of control grade 60. The achievement of experimental class better that control class. Based on data analysis technique with t-test the calculate was the significant (2 tailed) is 0.000 which means that it is less than 0.05 which means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected which mean the effect of Talk AI Application toward Students’ Speaking Skills of The Ten Grade at SMA Negeri 3 Siak Hulu is significant.
