Komunikasi Terapeutik Perawat dalam Menangani Pasien Kecanduan Narkoba di Rumah sakit Jiwa Tampan
According to KPAI (2024), Riau Province has been recorded as an area experiencing an increase in drug abuse cases. Over the past three years, at least 26 children in Riau Province have been involved in the abuse of drugs such as amphetamines and methamphetamines. Based on this data, the researcher conducted a study on drug-addicted patients at Tampan Psychiatric Hospital in Pekanbaru. The main issue addressed in this study is to identify the implementation of the stages of therapeutic communication and the obstacles faced by nurses in conducting therapeutic communication at Tampan Psychiatric Hospital when handling drug- addicted patients. The method used in this study is qualitative research. The data sources used in this research consist of primary data obtained directly from interviews with medical staff at the NAPZA unit of Tampan Psychiatric Hospital, as well as secondary data collected from various scientific journals that support the research topic. To ensure the validity of the data, the researcher employed triangulation techniques involving interview results and observational data. The research findings indicate that there are three procedural stages of therapeutic communication. The orientation phase includes two steps: the first is the ER screening, which functions to collect data about the patient/resident, and the second is detoxification, aimed at completely removing the drugs from the patient's system. The working phase occurs during the rehabilitation program, where nurses focus on providing activities and helping patients build a drug-free life purpose. The termination phase takes place after the rehabilitation period ends, referred to as IPWL, which is located in the outpatient clinic (POLI). In this phase, counselors are responsible for providing continued therapy or outpatient care. The obstacles encountered by nurses during therapeutic communication include three main challenges: manipulation, anger, and justification.
