Analisa kerusakan material pipa cooling tower PLTU Tenayan

Bertujuan untuk menganalisis mekanisme kerusakan material pipa cooling tower DN150 pada sistem pendingin PLTU UP Tenayan Raya. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pengujian komposisi material menggunakan X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), pengukuran ketebalan pipa, uji kekerasan Rockwell (HRB), serta analisis data operasional kualitas air cooling tower periode Juli 2025. Hasil uji XRF menunjukkan bahwa material pipa merupakan baja karbon (carbon steel) dengan kandungan Fe ±99% serta unsur paduan minor Mn dan Si. Pada pipa terpakai teridentifikasi penurunan unsur protektif seperti Mn, Si, dan Mo yang mengindikasikan degradasi permukaan akibat lingkungan operasi. Pengukuran ketebalan menunjukkan penurunan rata-rata sebesar 1,79 mm atau sekitar 17,84% dari ketebalan awal. Uji kekerasan menunjukkan penurunan dan ketidakseragaman nilai HRB pada pipa terpakai yang menandakan degradasi sifat mekanik. Data kualitas air menunjukkan nilai konduktivitas, TDS, TSS, turbidity, dan silika yang tinggi sehingga menciptakan lingkungan korosif dan mendukung terjadinya scaling, fouling, serta erosion–corrosion. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dan analisis, disimpulkan bahwa mekanisme utama kerusakan pipa cooling tower adalah kombinasi korosi lokal (under-deposit corrosion), erosi akibat partikel tersuspensi, dan pembentukan kerak, bukan disebabkan oleh cacat manufaktur material.
