Muhammad Rifqy Alvito, 2026. A Study on Students’s Ability in Speaking in the First Semester at the English Language Education Study Program of FKIP UIR, Thesis. This research was intend to find out the students’ ability in daily English speaking activity of the first semester at the English language education study program of FKIP UIR. Speaking is one of the four language skills that can be used to communicate. Daily English speaking activity is one of activity in first semester that gives chance to the students to speak English outside classroom in a certain day in more flexible condition with their friends. In reality, speaking is the most difficult skill the students’ problems in daily English speaking activity. The design of this research was descriptive qualitative. The researcher got source of data was video recorder documentation. The findings of the study were gathered through recording, documentation, and observation. The data was collected from 2 classes with 39 students by using purposive sampling technique. Researcher was analyze students’ability based on the data on speaking ability. The students were assessed in five terms: fluency,pronounciation, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension. The results of this research show that 81,84% is the mean score of students ability based on the four aspects which is categorized as good. These findings indicates that the students are generally able to communicate their ideas effectively in English. Based on the indicators, comprehension achieved the highest score. This suggest that students can understand the topic and respond appropriately during speaking.
