The use of land transportation has become a social need for the community, especially four-wheeled vehicles (cars), so that the existence of cars cannot be separated from the increasing economic growth of the community and the large number of people's demand for transportation facilities due to demands. This provides business opportunities and benefits for other parties in the leasing sector, which is better known as car rental. The existence of a form of cooperation in renting a car requires an agreement so that there is responsibility between the tenant and CV. Linetrip Rentcar regarding all losses and damage caused to the leased goods as specified in Article 1564 of the Civil Code. Violation of the contract is commonly referred to as a breach of contract. There are 4 cases of default that occurred in CV. Linetrip Rentcar, namely: being late in returning the car, returning the car in a damaged condition, committing criminal acts when renting a car, and embezzling the rented car. From the above background, the problem studied is how to resolve default in the car rental agreement at CV. Linetrip Rentcar in Pekanbaru City and what are the obstacles in resolving default in the car rental agreement at CV. Linetrip Rentcar In Pekanbaru City. In this study, the type of research used is sociological law, namely research that examines legal aspects by looking at the facts that occur in the field for further comparison with applicable laws and regulations. The sampling method is census, namely taking the entire population as respondents. The location of this research is in CV. Linetrip Rentcar Jalan Letkol Syariefuddin Syarif No.18, Kel. Tangkerang Tengah, Kec. Marpoyan Damai, Pekanbaru City, Riau 28125. The population in this study is 1 owner of CV. Linetrip Rentcar and 15 renters of CV. Linetrip Rentcar in January-June 2021. From this research it can be concluded that the car rental agreement in CV. Linetrip Rentcar has many defaults committed by the tenant, such as being late in returning the car, the car being returned in a damaged condition and the car being rented is used for criminal activities so that the car becomes evidence at the Police Station and the car is not returned to the car rental party. Efforts made by the renter are to prioritize taking the family path, namely deliberation because they want to display a good and understanding image so that the tenant can continue to be a customer who can provide benefits to CV.
